Chris Calihan was raised in central Massachusetts with his two brothers and even at that time frequently sought out the most challenging endeavors. He was a member of the National Honor Society, played varsity soccer for four years and was selected to be captain. He also lettered in golf, learned German, attended Massachusetts Boys State to learn governance, was chosen as a student representative in one of the first visits to Russia in 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet Union, was designated a State All Star in soccer, was awarded an ROTC Scholarship, and travelled to Amsterdam to play soccer in the Holland Cup prior to attending university.

Chris served with distinction for ten years as an Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer. He was stationed in Georgia; Quantico Virginia; SETAF Italy; and Germany. He completed three tours in the Middle East as a Platoon Leader, Division Operations Planner, and most recently as an Infantry Company Commander. While deployed, he engaged local sheiks in Al Anbar Province, Iraq to build lasting relationships and effectuate security, utilities, schools, and rule of law in nation-building. Among his other decorations, Chris was awarded two Bronze Star Medals, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Order of Saint Maurice, before being Honorably Discharged.

Chris received his Juris Doctor cum laude and graduated in the top third of his class from the University of Miami School of Law. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2013 and to the United States District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Before joining the Neuman Law Firm, Chris was a partner at Hightower, Stratton, Novigrod & Kantor where he defended businesses throughout Florida in areas including premises liability, construction defects, workers compensation, toxic torts, first-party property & windstorm, motor vehicle negligence, property damage, bodily injury, products liability, and landlord-tenant law.
